The Plateau State chapter of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria has alleged that 14 cows were killed and 29 others rustled in the Gero community of Jos South Local Government Area.
Association calls for investigation
State chairman Ibrahim Yusuf Babayo said the incident reportedly occurred on Saturday, August 22. According to the association, herders were attacked while grazing, forcing them to flee and leaving livestock behind.
MACBAN called on the Plateau State Government, the police, Operation Safe Haven and other security agencies to investigate the allegation, recover the missing cattle and prosecute anyone found responsible. The group also urged pastoralists to remain calm and avoid retaliation.
