Naira.blog is a Nigerian news and lifestyle publication covering national news, politics, business, sports, entertainment, Nollywood, fashion and everyday life. This editorial policy explains how we gather, verify and publish stories, and what you can expect from us.
Our mission
We exist to help Nigerians understand what is happening in their country quickly and clearly. Our reporting is written for readers, not for algorithms: every story aims to answer what happened, why it matters and what happens next.
How we source stories
Our reporters and editors work from primary sources where possible: official statements, press releases, court documents, government publications, verified social media posts from public figures and organisations, and direct interviews. When a story is based on reporting published elsewhere, we attribute the original outlet and add context, verification and analysis of our own. We do not republish full articles from other publishers.
Accuracy and corrections
Every article is reviewed by an editor before publication. Facts are checked against the primary source; names, titles, figures and dates are confirmed before publishing. When we get something wrong we correct it promptly and openly. Corrections are marked on the article with a note describing what changed and when. To request a correction, email info@naira.blog with the article link and the detail in question.
Opinion and analysis
Analysis pieces and columns are clearly labelled. They represent the view of the writer, are grounded in reported facts, and are kept separate from straight news reporting.
Editorial independence and advertising
Advertising, sponsored content and affiliate links are labelled as such. Advertisers have no influence over editorial decisions, and sponsored posts are reviewed under the same standards as editorial content. We do not accept payment in exchange for positive coverage.
Privacy and sensitive reporting
We do not publish the identities of minors in sensitive stories, victims of sexual violence without consent, or private individuals’ personal data that is not relevant to a story of public interest. Photographs of identifiable private individuals are used only where there is a clear public interest.
Images and copyright
We use our own photography, licensed stock imagery, and images supplied by public figures and organisations for promotional use. If you believe an image on this site infringes your copyright, contact us and we will remove or replace it promptly.
Comments and community
Reader comments are moderated. We remove abuse, hate speech, spam and unverified accusations against named individuals.
