President Bola Tinubu has sworn in Abel Enitan as the new Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, following the retirement of Didi Walson-Jack.
Formal transition at the State House
Enitan took the oath at a ceremony in Abuja and formally assumed responsibility for the Federal Civil Service. Walson-Jack and her successor signed the transition documents before she handed over an official note covering her tenure.
Enitan, from Osun State, was the most senior Permanent Secretary before his appointment. He spent seven years and seven months in that grade and previously served in the Ministries of Police Affairs, Humanitarian Affairs and Education, as well as the Office of the Vice President.
Mandate for reform
The President asked the new Head of Service to deepen professionalism, efficiency, accountability and innovation while consolidating reforms already under way.
